Proposal data

Drafts can be edited without an account. Signing in with ChatGPT lets you save proposals and business settings. Saved records are linked to your account. Proposal text, client details and prices are used for the editor and exports; they are excluded from analytics and error reports. You can delete saved proposals from your workspace.

When you sign in from the editor, your unsaved draft is kept temporarily in this tab's session storage so it can be restored after sign-in. That copy is removed when restored, is only accepted for 30 minutes, and is cleared when the tab's session ends. It is not sent to analytics.

Optional analytics and feature flags

With “Allow analytics”, PostHog processes named page and section views, visible time, editor actions, saves and export initiations. It stores random browser and session identifiers in browser storage. Signed-in account IDs are hashed before identification in PostHog. We include general browser/device information, environment and whether the visitor is the product owner. Names, emails, field values, proposal content and prices are not sent.

We also use PostHog to evaluate feature flags and measure exposure to changes. When analytics is declined, flags use the product's default experience. Flags do not control account permissions or paid entitlements.

Automatic form/click capture, session recordings, heatmaps, surveys, console collection and PostHog error tracking are disabled. Full referrer URLs, query strings and advertising identifiers are excluded. PostHog receives network requests to provide these services; IP-based enrichment is disabled in our SDK.

Your choice

Choose “Essential only” to disable optional measurement. “Privacy choices” lets you change this later; declining stops new usage events and clears this browser's analytics identity. Previously received events remain subject to retention. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control also disable analytics. Browser storage or monitoring failures do not prevent drafting.

Error diagnostics

Sentry receives limited diagnostics independently of optional analytics: error class, code-file positions, fixed route, release, environment, time and incident reference. We remove raw exception messages, request data, headers, cookies, breadcrumbs and user profiles before sending. No proposal fields, passwords or tokens are included. Recordings, performance tracing and log streaming are disabled. Source maps, when uploaded, let the owner see the original application code around a failure.

Providers, access and retention

PostHog and Sentry process monitoring data in their US regions. Access is restricted through the owner's provider accounts. PostHog's free plan provides up to one year of analytics retention; Sentry's Developer plan provides a 30-day lookback. Provider infrastructure processes network metadata under their own policies. Browser identifiers remain until reset or storage is cleared; a PostHog session normally times out after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Historical first-party usage and error records in Scopepaper's database expire after 30 days, with cleanup on subsequent collection, owner report access or maintenance. New usage is sent to PostHog. Hosting and authentication providers may retain separate infrastructure logs.
